Jimmy Don Owings First Responders Endowed Scholarship

Criteria for eligibility

• Must be currently enrolled at or entering Tarrant County College.
• Must intend to pursue an associate degree or certificate of completion in one of the following fields of study: criminal justice, fire fighter/fire protection technology, emergency medical services or paramedic program.
• Must have a minimum TCC GPA of 2.5 OR
• Must have a high school equivalent or a passing GED score if a first-time TCC student.
• Must enroll in a minimum of 6 credit hours for period of award.
• Must complete a minimum of 4 hours of community service per period of award.
• This is a merit-based scholarship and determination of financial need is not required.

Criteria for renewal:

• Recipient will receive a spring scholarship if a minimum semester GPA of 2.5 is achieved, a minimum of 6 credit hours are completed in the fall and signed verification of community service is provided to the Foundation office.
