The Owings Family

This scholarship is established in loving memory of Jimmy Don Owings by family and friends to celebrate his life and all that he meant to others. Jimmy Don was a victim of Shaken Baby Syndrome and was taken at only 9 months old. The love and compassion the family received from officers, hospital staff, EMTs and complete strangers helped family members make it through the most tragic time of their lives. This scholarship represents the family’s way of giving back so that first responders will have assistance in making their educational dreams come true.
