Melody Benton Spruell "I AM a Nurse" Scholarship

Criteria for eligibility:

• Must be currently enrolled at Tarrant County College.
• Must be admitted into the Associate of Applied Science Program in Nursing.
• Must have a minimum TCC GPA of 3.0 (3.25 or higher is desirable as this demonstrates superior aptitude and ability in the Nursing program).
• Must enroll in a minimum of 7 credit hours (or full-time enrollment as defined by the recipient’s program) for period of award.
• Must be a parent with dependent children.
• Preference given to applicants who are single parents.
• Preference given to applicants intending to pursue nursing careers in women’s health.
• Preference given to applicants who meet federal or state guidelines for financial need.

Criteria for renewal:

• This scholarship is awarded for up to four consecutive semesters, including summer sessions if a minimum GPA of 3.0 is achieved in the nursing curriculum and a minimum of 7 credit hours are completed each semester.
