The Womack Family

Jerry and Helen moved to Azle Texas in 1974 when Jerry retired from the Navy after 20 years of service. Azle was their choice of places to live because Helen’s parents, James and Lola Watson, had both retired from teaching at Azle ISD a few years earlier. After settling in Azle, Jerry and Helen eventually opened and operated three convenience stores under the names of J & H Stop & Shop; J & H Main Stop; and J & H on the way to the Lake. They both retired in 2010 and still reside in Azle. Both of Jerry and Helen’s children, Scott and Dezra, graduated from Azle High School and from Tarrant County Jr. College. Jerry and Helen are very supportive of secondary education and the doors that learning can open.
