Pennie Boyett Scholarship

Pennie Boyett: When I taught at Tarrant County College, I saw many students returning to college after a long break in the “real” world, ready to tackle higher education because they knew what a difference it could make for themselves and their families. Often, there were crises of confidence. As a professor, I could offer an encouraging word or a challenging assignment to communicate the joy of learning. As a retiree, I can underwrite this scholarship to give a motivated student funding so he or she can spend more time on school and less time worrying about how to pay for it.
