Jesus Sanchez Scholarship

Jesus Sanchez: As far back as I can remember, my mother inculcated in me the importance of education. She would constantly tell me how I needed to make good grades to secure scholarships for college. The hard work paid off when I earned a full scholarship to an out-of­ state school where I obtained my bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering. I was the first in my family to go to college.

If it weren’t for that scholarship my life would look very different right now. I’ve been blessed in more ways than I can count and in every moment my life took a significant turn for the better, I can point to the someone that made that moment possible. Sometimes it was an organization, sometimes it was a school or a teacher. At times it was a mentor, and other times it was a just a friend or someone who simply cared. I’m excited because now it’s my turn to help others realize their dreams. This is one of the ways I make that happen.
